A Wake-Up Call!

I'm sad to say I was one of those nurses who for years sat back waiting for the union to "fix" things. It wasn't till things came to a head in October with our new owners that I realized that I am part of the union! This is such a grave misconception on part of so many nurses with in our union it makes me sad, mad, and just wants to make me scream. I got an email from one of the nurses that is part of a hospital that our union got into two years ago and they still dont have a contract.

Four hospitals are involved in this so you can imagine the number of nurses involved. The nurse who emailed me never goes to meetings or negotiations and wanted to know when the "UNION" was going to get off their duffs and sue the hospital! The nurses dont want to hear the word strike they just want the "UNION" to fix it and make it all better without anyone in the hospital knowing "who" supports the union. A lot of them that voted the union wont get involved because they want to remain anonymous but they want someone else to fix it for them. Same old story .....fix it for us "We are too scared".

They are taking all kind of abuses within this system. It is a real shame.
